About Me
I am a WOC, third culture kid, daughter of immigrants, intersectional feminist, activist, and person who has experienced intimate partner and domestic violence on a mission to decolonize mental health and trauma healing. I am a recovering perfectionist and food addict. Outside of teaching, I can be found reading, volunteering, and supporting the performing arts and yoga community.
I lead group classes at Dew Yoga. In addition to group classes, I share yoga through Namaste New York and YogaBreak's hotel, residential and office services. I volunteer for the Department of Mental & Addiction Services guiding monthly meditation and movement classes for the F.S. Dubois Center and co-lead bilingual introductory yoga classes for immigrants at Building One Community.
I began practicing yoga during a transitional period, in which my emotional and mental health were profoundly challenged. Through practicing and studying yoga as a therapeutic support system, I acquired specialized knowledge and experience serving populations recovering from chronic stress, addiction as well as food and body-image-related issues. Based on my own experience, I care deeply about offering essential healing space.
